Dell XPS 630

The Dell XPS 630 is the second gaming desktop computer released by Dell.

Pros

The XPS 630 is a very powerful machine, which is exactly what you’d want from a gaming computer. The base model XPs 630 comes with two optical drives, numerous ports in the front, an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 processor, two Nvidia graphics cards, 2 GB DDR2 SDRAM, a 750 W power supply and one 500 GB hard drive installed (but there’s room to easily install three more). In fact, it’s easy to install any new parts that you want, allowing a completely customized gaming experience. Most importantly, there are no over-clocked parts.

Cons

Like all gaming computers, the XPS 630 isn’t exactly cheap (it sells for around $1,400). This is a serious machine for serious gamers. There aren’t many negatives to the XPS 630, but one that we noted is the case. Although the case is really cool looking, it’s quite large and not exactly what you would describe as portable. If you want to take your gaming on the road with you, we recommend a gaming laptop.

The Gist

The XPS 630 proves that Dell knows how to make a gaming desktop computer that serious gamers can respect. There is no better option in its price range.
