PALM TX Bundle Pack with Wireless Keyboard

Reviews

Finding a decent PDA without a built-in cell phone is increasingly difficult, but the Palm TX delivers.

Pros

If you want to retrieve e-mail, view, edit and create Word documents and organize your day without having a built-in phone, the PALM TX is what you're looking for. The PALM operating system is not as clunky as Windows Mobile and is cheaper than a comparable portable PC as well – a definite plus! It has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth functionality so you can connect to hotspots or use your cell phone as a modem to get online. The included collapsible keyboard enables you to type comfortably and get some work done away from the office. You can also listen to music, view pictures and watch video clips easily. You can maximize your viewing pleasure by switching to landscape mode with the click of a button.

Cons

The battery isn't replaceable. The technology is getting a little dated as well, since it was originally released late in 2005. Some find that the collapsible keyboard is a little flimsy. No support for Vista and the maximum memory supported is 2 GB. No multi-tasking capability.

The Gist

If you're looking for a boatload of features on a budget, but aren't keen on getting tied to a smart phone and monthly service plans, the Palm TX is a great option. There are tons of third-party applications that you can find online to make your Palm even more robust, often for free. If you're not one of those people who has to have the latest in technological gizmos, the Palm TX could serve you well.
