A broadband router, also called a residential gateway or home router, connects a home network of computers to the Internet. A router sits in between a modem and the home network, unless a DSL or cable modem is already built into the router.

DLink provides the same variety; a DLink router can cost around $30 but can go as high as $300 for an "Xtreme" router, or nearly $500 for routers specialized for small businesses.
