Motorola RAZR

Sleek, elegant design makes this phone chic

One of the most popular phones out there, Motorola’s sleek and slim RAZR definitely grabs people’s attention. Armed with a variety of features, this phone definitely tops the list for versatility, but it likely isn’t the best phone for people who want a lot of applications and features.

Pros

The Motorola RAZR V3 has a beautiful design, including a crisp, colorful LCD screen; a thin, lightweight body; easy-to-press buttons; a built-in camera; Bluetooth compatibility ; and world phone support. It also includes voice recognition and recording capabilities.

The camera is situated out of the way of fingers and when closed, the external display acts as a viewfinder. The 1000-name phone book can hold six phone numbers and an email address for every entry, and entries can be paired with a picture and up to 14 different polyphonic ringtones. The Motorola RAZR also has Web browsing capability. Call quality is excellent, but those with hearing impairment should test the phone first.

Cons

Like other RAZR phones before it, this phone is fragile and is not for those prone to dropping things. This design is much tougher than its predecessors, but the thin cover is easily snapped off. The V3 also inherited its predecessors’ difficult navigation —definitely read the manual. The built-in camera doesn’t have a flash.

The Gist

This phone is sleek and stylish, a definite asset to anyone’s electronics collection. But anyone looking for great features that work well might be disappointed. For regular calling, however, the RAZR is great, and because of its popularity, Motorola RAZR V3 drivers and RAZR skins are very easy to come by. The RAZR also has applications that can be loaded onto it, and RAZR software can be found online. The price isn’t bad, either – around $140 for a V3.
