ThinkPad 600E

The Lenovo ThinkPad 600E is a great notebook computer for consumers who want to own a laptop but don’t want to spend too much money and don’t want to worry about losing or damaging it.

Pros

The ThinkPad 600E doesn’t excel at any task in particular, but it gets the job done. It’s great for travel since it’s relatively small, light and sturdy. Though many newer and supposedly better laptops are on the market today, there are still many people who continue to use their 600Es because they are so reliable. As far as budget laptops go, the ThinkPad 600E may very well be the best available.

A nice bonus is that the ThinkPad 600E comes with a great set of built-in speakers (great for a laptop, at least), so you can pump out your favorite mp3s without having to buy a set of speakers.

Cons

Not everything is great about the ThinkPad 600E. The backlight is prone to flickering if you have the brightness set to a lower setting, which can be hard on the eyes (not to mention really annoying). This problem can be fixed by turning up the brightness, but this causes the batteries to die faster. This is problematic because the battery life isn’t the greatest in the first place. It seems like no laptop on the market has batteries that last as long as users need them to, but the ThinkPad 600E’s batteries are definitely inferior to those of some other laptop models.

The Gist

The ThinkPad 600E is far from the most stylish or most powerful laptop on the market, but it is a good machine for consumers who want a cheap laptop that can handle basic tasks.
