HP LaserJet p1505
The Hewlett-Packard LaserJet p1505 is the successor to the popular LaserJet 1020. Considering its small size and low price, the p1505 is surprisingly fast.
Pros
There aren’t many printers on the market today that can do what the HP p1505 does for the same price. The p1505 sells for around $200 (which is a great value) and it performs quite well considering how cheap it is. The p1505 is remarkably fast. It can print over 25 pages of text and around 10 pages of photos per minute. These are numbers that very few printers can compete with, especially not those that sell for $200.
Cons
Before you rush out and drop $200 on a p1505, we need to make one thing very clear – this is not an office printer. It can make a great home office printer, but it is not up to the job of handling the printing needs of an entire office of workers. Though the printer itself is cheap, the pages it prints are not. After you use up the 1000-page cartridge that comes with the printer, your best bet is to purchase a 2000-page replacement cartridge. This will cost you nearly $70, which works out to three cents per page (though this doesn’t sound like much, it’s much worse than many other printers on the market today). Additionally, the pages it produces are often grainy and blurry.
The Gist
The HP LaserJet p1505 is cheap and fast, but it isn’t designed to be the kind of printer that’s in constant use. If you’re the kind of person who only needs to print a few pages per day, the p1505 is a good choice. If you’re looking for a printer that will be in constant use, look elsewhere.
